Martha Delgado Peralta is a distinguished environmental leader with over three decades of experience in national and international public service. Currently, she serves as the Chairwoman of Mexico and Latin America for APCO Worldwide in Mexico City. Martha's career is marked by a profound commitment to environmentalism, human rights, and sustainability, which has been reflected in her various influential roles within the Federal Public Administration, non-profit organizations, and governmental bodies in Mexico. Martha's extensive career includes serving as the Undersecretary for Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights at the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she played a pivotal role in shaping Mexico's foreign policy on human rights and multilateral diplomacy. Prior to this, she was the Secretary of the Environment for the Mexico City government from 2006 to 2012, during which she spearheaded key initiatives such as the Green Plan of Mexico City, the Climate Action Program, and the ECOBICI bike-sharing program, which have had lasting impacts on urban sustainability in the region. In addition to her government roles, Martha has led the Global Cities Covenant on Climate at Fundación PENSAR and has been an active member of various boards and advisory committees for international and multilateral organizations. Her leadership extends to global networks focused on urban and environmental issues, where she has been instrumental in advancing sustainability agendas on a worldwide scale. Martha holds a Master’s degree in Liberal Arts in the field of Sustainability from Harvard University, further solidifying her expertise in environmental policy and sustainable development.
